Your trip

Boarding passes

You can collect your boarding passes at any of our official sales points

Boarding procedure

Once you have your boarding passes, you need to go to the Spanish police inspection point to access the boat. Passport inspection on the Tarifa – Tangier and Algeciras – Tanger-Med routes on the part of the Moroccan authorities takes place on board the boat, during the crossing. When you collect your tickets, you will be given the white passenger control form. This form must be filled out and handed in with your passport, which will be stamped by Moroccan police during immigration control on board the boat. Once your passport has been stamped, this will be the document you will need to disembark in Morocco.

The yellow police form has to be handed in at the passport inspection point in Moroccan customs before leaving Morocco.

For one day trips to Tangier, if you are a citizen of a European Union member state all you have to take with you is your national ID card.

If you are travelling with a vehicle you must go through the vehicle check point at our departure ports (Tarifa/Algeciras/Ceuta) to go through to the boarding area. You will then need to go through the relevant police inspection point. Once aboard, passengers must go through the procedure explained above. If travelling with a vehicle, you must hand over a completed D16ter form to customs. Click on the following link to download this form.

http://www.douane.gov.ma/d16ter/formAT.jsf

Morocco entry and exit forms

You can get the passenger control forms at our sales points, namely the white form (for entry into Morocco) and yellow form (to exit Morocco), both of which must be correctly filled in and handed into the authorities. For entry this will take place on board the ship, when the form will be handed over during the crossing, and when leaving Morocco this will take place at the police inspection point in the port terminal.

The passenger control forms must be handed in with your passport.

Travel documentation

Passports are compulsory in order to travel to Morocco. For certain countries, visas will be required and must be obtained at the appropriate consulate beforehand.

In the case of the guided day trip to Tangier, there are exceptions whereby you may travel with your national ID document if you are a citizen of the European Union. Please check beforehand with our call centre bookingfrses) or by calling +34 956 68 18 30.

Currency

In Morocco you can pay in euros in many places. If you want to obtain dirhams, you can get these at bureaux de change as well as at Tangier Port and in the city itself.

Introduction into the EU of products of animal origin.

If you bring meat or dairy products from outside the EU, you may be importing animal diseases.

You must present the products at official control points. Otherwise, you may be fined or face criminal prosecution.

The introduction into the EU of products of animal origin is subject to strict procedures and veterinary checks.

Travelling with a Vehicle

To travel with a vehicle you will need your driving licence, insurance documents and your valid insurance Green Card.

You will need to fill in the following form to enter and exit Morocco:

http://www.douane.gov.ma/d16ter/formAT.jsf

Travelling with children

Children must carry a passport, the only exception allowing them to travel with a national ID document being the guided day trip to Tangier.

If the child is a minor and is not travelling with his/her parents, the national police must issue a document authorising the minor to travel unaccompanied. This document must be obtained before the date of travel at a police station.

Travelling with pets

Pets must travel in the area set aside for this purpose aboard the boat, within an appropriate container provided by the passenger. No animal must travel in the passenger area and in the case of passengers travelling with vehicles, the animal must remain inside the vehicle in the hold. The owner is responsible for providing his/her pet with food/water, as well as for its general well-being.

Passengers must inform the company of their intention or need to travel with an animal when purchasing or booking their tickets and in all cases at least 4 hours before the scheduled departure time. FRS shall notify passengers regarding the feasibility of travelling with their pet.

Registered guide dogs are the only animals allowed to travel in the passenger area. On board, they must be muzzled, be on a short leash and have a collar, as well as remaining with their owner.

It is important that passengers find out about the requirements which animals must comply with in order to travel, as well the necessary documentation they must have. We recommend you read the Moroccan and Spanish regulations regarding the entry of pets.

Travelling with baggage

Passengers have the right to take their luggage on board free of charge, this being taken to mean clothing and personal belongings necessary for the use and comfort of passengers during their trip. No liability will be accepted for any passenger belongings which have not been entrusted to the Captain for their safekeeping. Goods resulting from illegal trade and/or dangerous items are not permitted on board.

Reduced mobility

If the individual with reduced mobility has a disability, he/she must communicate this upon arrival at the port and FRS staff will organise their transfer onto the boat. Moreover, we have lifts/hoists to get to and from the hold and passenger area.
