FRS Iberia/Maroc will continue to operate as normal, ensuring a smooth transition for customers.
The acquisition of FRS Iberia/Maroc strengthens the presence of DFDS in the Mediterranean, where DFDS already operates ferry routes from Türkiye to Italy and France and from France to Tunisia. The combination of DFDS and FRS Iberia/Maroc improves the network and offered services for freight customers and passengers in the Mediterranean.
With the expansion DFDS add significant passenger activity to its network and gains access to the growing North Africa-Europe freight corridor. FRS Iberia/Maroc, established in the Strait of Gibraltar since 2000, is the only freight and passenger ferry company that operates all routes of the Strait of Gibraltar. It operates regularly on Tarifa – Tanger Ville, Algeciras – Tanger Med, and Algeciras – Ceuta. With seven vessels, the FRS Iberia Group is known as a leading, premium ferry operator for both the cargo and passenger segments with a high focus on delivering reliable service and enhancing environmental sustainability.
"This acquisition is not only a step forward in our growth vision but also reinforces our commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and sustainability," says Ronny Moriana Glindemann, Managing Director of FRS Iberia/Maroc.
CEO of DFDS, Torben Carlsen adds: “We are excited to start the integration of FRS Iberia/Maroc and look forward to applying our joint capabilities to grow the business while continuing to provide reliable, efficient ferry services to both passengers and freight customers”
